Original Glass Blowing Demonstration
Virginia artist Tom Heath creates wonderful one-of-a-kind handmade glass pendants that reflect the ocean and bay life. In this demonstration you will be treated to his process of creating these works of art as you watch him create several pieces in the demonstration. You will also be able to make a purchase of created works.
The glass blowing skill that Tom uses is called Lampworking. Lampworking is a type of glasswork where a torch is used to melt the glass. Once in a molten state, the glass is formed by shaping and stretching the glass by hand movements and tools. Once the glass piece is created it then will go into a kiln to anneal.
